Located on a small side street across the street from the tourist information center is the splendid Dubb Indian Restaurant and Cafe, Turkey's first Indian restaurant. Once a much more desolate area, the neighborhood now bustles with a variety of art galleries, shops, graciously offer you a cup of wonderfully smooth Indian tea.
His dedication and handiwork can be seen in the beautifully decorated interior of rich woodwork and exposed ceiling beams that open to a pleasant sidewalk dining area. (There is promise of a soon to open rooftop terrace as well.)
Dubb offers all kinds of Turkish and Indian specialties, taking advantage of the abundance of fragrant spices found in local markets.
The curries are excellent, as is the fresh Indian bread right out of the oven. After dining, a visit to the top floor gallery of antiques and Turkish carpets is not to be missed. English and Japanese are spoken and the prices are reasonable.
