Beyoglu: Right underneath Yagmur Cybercafe in Tünel is a great little restaurant run by a couple of friends, Gulçin and Pekcan. They have created a slightly different twist on traditional Turkish cuisine and most of the dishes are vegetarian. It's a very nice, quiet place to meet your friends for a light dinner before the cinema or a night on the town. The decor is natural and refreshing, with fresh flowers adorning the solid wooden tables and lots of dried flowers in little frames on the walls. The ever-changing menu is written down each day on a fresh sheet of paper and brought to your table, where you write down what you want to eat. Some of the favourites are artichokes stuffed with rice and herbs, this is served cold and is perfect for lunch or dinner on a warm spring day, you could also try any of the soya meat dishes, for those who like the idea of vegetarianism but don't like the idea of not eating meat - the texture of the soya product is very similar to the real thing, soups and salads are always fresh and good, and for dessert you can't resist trying the warm chocolate brownie cake or maybe the apple gateaux with chocolate sauce. Dinner for two with softdrinks or fruit juice will cost you around $20. It's well worth checking out for lunch any day through the week and is also an excellent choice for dinner as well. Bon Apetite!
