Highlights Of This Tour

It is a land of soft, cone-shaped rock formations, homes honeycombed into "fairy chimneys" and still occupied today, churches carved into sheer rock and adorned with brilliant frescoes and awe-inspiring red-tinted rock formations and bluffs.

 
Detailed Itinerary

 

Hagia Sophia

1st Day... Morning flight to Ankara (or Kayseri) transfer to Cappadocia, stopping for lunch on the way. We visit the 13th century Agizkarahan Caravanserai, the underground city of Derinkuyu or Kaymakli and the natural citadels of Uchisar and Urgup. Dinner and overnight.

 

 

 


 

 

Hagia Sophia

2nd Day. Breakfast and visit to the spectacular Open-air museum in Goreme Valley, dotted with early Christian churches, We also visit Zelve, an ancient city carved into a red-tinted gorge, and the striking villages of Cavusin and Avcilar, then lunch and shop before returning to Ankara (or Kayseri).
